Surface Gallery will be hosting one of a series of AIR Insight talks on Wednesday 23rd November, 2011, 6.30pm — 8pm. The discussion will be based around on applying for exhibitions, artist in residence programmes and open submissions. Helen Jones (exhibitions curator at New Art Gallery Walsall) will be joined by Rosalind Davis (artist and director of Core Gallery, London) to offer advice on engaging and opening dialogue with curators. ”¢ What is the best way to apply for open submissions? ”¢ What happens if you get a knock back? ”¢ Which galleries should you be talking to? ”¢ Are artist in residence schemes worth it?
